    FW Harvey and the legacy of nature writing event. I will be reading poems and talking about the landscape and nature influences on my poetry.

    Program
    11 am to 12.30 pm Walking to Work, Broadoak to Newnham.

    A walk through Newnham looking at F. W. Harvey’s post-war years when he began his legal career and lived at Broadoak.

    1 pm to 1.45 pm An introduction to F.W. Harvey in Ten Poems

    For those who know very little, if anything, about F.W. Harvey, this is an opportunity to find out more about his remarkable life and work. Members and those familiar with Harvey and his work may wish to join at 2.00pm.

    2 pm to 4.15 pm F.W. Harvey and the Legacy of Nature Writing

    Welcome and Introduction: Chair, Roger Deeks
    2.30pm: Guest speaker, poet Stewart Carswell, Landscape and Poetry
    3.15 pm Break (available from the George Cafe)
    3.30 pm A Poetry Miscellany
    A selection of unpublished F.W. Harvey poems interspersed by verse from Forest of Dean contemporary poets.
    4.15 pm Finish.

    Guest poet at Poetry At Coffee #1. Join us for a poetry feast in the warm, welcoming ambience of Coffee #1 on Bristol's bustling North Street. Poet Stewart Carswell will be reading a selection of his work and you can share your own poetry or just sit back and soak up the poems during two open mic sessions.

    After 13 splendid years, the IsamBards are saying goodbye to Bristol and their faithful audience at the Bristol Folk House on 29th October. A final chance to hear old favourites and some of the poems less read that are to be found in our farewell anthology, ‘Dancing on the Bridge’.
